Can you share a brief history of J’evar and its legacy in the jewelry industry?
Amish R Shah, a visionary pioneer, gave birth to the lab-grown diamond industry, changing the landscape of luxury. At the heart of this innovation is the House of ALTR, where each diamond is a vessel of history, emotion and character.
These jewels, with their royal history, seem almost alive. Sharing ancient stories, telling timeless truths, and showing the noble heritage they carry!
The House of ALTR's journey began in 1933 in the opulent courts of Indian royalty. These gems, passed down through generations, were not mere adornments but heirlooms that carried the stories of their wearers.
Today, the same Golconda diamonds that once adorned royalty now inspire the lab-grown diamonds at the House of ALTR. J'EVAR jewelry features ALTR Created Diamonds, combining classic beauty with modern technology.
Each piece is a testament to a rich history and a bright future, where royalty and innovation meet.

What is a lab grown diamond?
We use technology to create lab-grown diamonds that replicates earth’s diamond formation process. Lab diamonds are chemically, physically, and optically identical to mined diamonds.
J'EVAR exclusively uses ALTR Created Diamonds, which are lab-grown diamonds known for their unmatched purity and brilliance. ALTR Created Diamonds are Type IIa, the rarest and purest type of diamond, similar to those found in nature. This includes the diamond Richard Burton gave to Marilyn Monroe.
Are lab created diamonds real diamonds?
Yes, J'EVAR's beautiful lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds. They consist crystallized carbon, just like earth-mined diamonds. Also, they are chemically, physically, and optically identical to their earth mined counterparts.
Unlike moissanite or cubic zirconia, which come from different materials, J'EVAR's lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds. The clarity ranges from VVS - VS, with a color range of D-F of our diamonds that meets high standards. J'EVAR, a fine jewelry brand dedicated to offering exceptional quality and sustainability. Diamonds Made Not Born!
How are lab diamonds made?
J'EVAR sources all its diamonds exclusively from ALTR Created Diamonds, ensuring the highest quality and ethical standards grown with the Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) Process.
The CVD method involves placing a diamond seed in a vacuum chamber filled with carbon-rich gases. Then, carbon atoms deposit and crystallize layer by layer to create a diamond.
Both methods produce genuine, pure diamonds made entirely of crystallized carbon, identical in every way to earth mined diamonds. These Type IIa carbon neutral diamonds are renowned for their exceptional purity, brilliance, and sustainability, making J'EVAR jewelry both beautiful and responsibly crafted.

How do you know if a diamond is made in a lab?
Identifying whether a diamond is lab-grown can be challenging with the naked eye. Lab diamonds are chemically, physically, and optically identical to earth mined diamonds. However, there are specific methods and tools gemologists and experts use to determine if a diamond is lab-grown:
1. Inscriptions: Lab-grown diamonds, like ALTR's, often have laser inscription on the girdle that indicate they're lab-grown. You can see this inscription with jeweler’s loupe or microscope.
2. Advanced Testing: Special tools like spectrometers and diamond testers can tell lab-grown diamonds apart from earth mined.
3. Growth Inclusions: Lab grown diamonds sometimes have unique internal characteristics or inclusions that differ from earth mined. Trained gemologists can identify these under magnification.
Is there a chance that lab-grown diamonds could test as moissanite?
Sometimes diamond testers might mix up moissanite with diamonds because they conduct electricity similarly. However, expert gemologists can tell them apart by looking at how they bend light. Moissanites bend light in two different ways, while diamonds bend it in just one.
Will lab grown diamond successfully pass through a diamond tester?
Yes, lab-grown diamonds will typically pass through a diamond tester because they have similar properties to earth mined diamonds.
Do lab diamonds get damaged?
Lab-grown diamonds do not damage more easily than earth-mined diamonds. Both lab-grown and earth mined diamonds have a rating of 10 on the Mohs scale of hardness. This means they are highly resistant to scratches, chips, and everyday wear.
However, extreme conditions can affect lab-grown diamonds. For example, a strong enough impact, especially at specific angles, can cause chipping or cracking.
How to clean a lab diamond?
To clean a lab diamond, you can use a mixture of warm water and mild dish soap. Soak the diamond in the solution for a few minutes, then use a soft-bristled brush to gently scrub away any dirt or debris. It's advisable to cover the drain if cleaning over a sink to avoid accidentally losing the diamond.
After scrubbing, rinse the diamond with warm water and dry it with a soft, lint-free cloth. This simple method will help keep your lab diamond sparkling and clean.
Every product we offer meets a minimum quality standard to ensure durability and satisfaction.
How much time does it take to make lab grown diamond?
Growing an ALTR Created Diamond, purest in the world, usually takes a few weeks to a few months, depending on the size and quality.
Smaller diamonds can grow in as little as two to three weeks. Larger or more complex diamonds may take several months to reach the desired size and quality.
The growth process uses controlled conditions to make sure the diamonds have the same properties as earth mined diamonds. ALTR's advanced technology ensures each diamond is consistent and precise.
What do HPHT and CVD stand for in lab-grown diamonds?
HPHT for High Pressure High Temperature and CVD for Chemical Vapor Deposition.
Do you offer only lab grown diamonds?
Yes, we offer only lab-grown diamonds. Our founder, Amish R. Shah, envisioned making the aspirational attainable by providing high-quality, ethically created diamonds. However, we are more than just a lab-grown diamond company.
